Intelligence alert was given to Indian Army by BSF intelligence.. But army didn't take it serious.. Even the posts where BSF was deployed they weren't captured as BSF never left their post even in winter like Army do
Sir you are not telling the co-operation of locals of kargils who were also straggling to capture the hills by the pakastani armies.
I also was volunnteerily serving with our army to carry the amination and food on top of the borders.
I rememberd that 50 volunteers from each villages of kargil were rendering their services with the army on rotational basis. . . But misfortunately no any higher authority is in favour to appreciate the services of locals of kargil during the struggle.

I don't call it a intelligence failure, it was a political failure and this disaster happen only because of then pm, raw and military intelligence always reminded our so called great political leaders to act on this but vajpayee didn't took actions because of his utopian idea of taking bus plan to Lahore.
